TWINTONE forged through on the rail along the backstretch to be on nearly even terms for command, permitted MIDLAND TRAIL to challenge on the. rail, came again and drew clear in the final furlong. The latter went through on the inside to gain a narrow advantage, faltered nearing the end and finished in a dead-heat for place with ROCKBRIDGE. The latter, within striking distance from the start, lacked a closing rally and finished on even terms with MIDLAND TRAIL. WINDSOR KNOT went up to be a sharp contender on the final turn and failed to respond thereafter. TALION weakened from her early effort. RED MARTLET climbed and was far back. MARAUD showed nothing.
