» Beulah Park Daily Attendance And Mutuel Play Off Slightly Ayerage 5,533 and 49,617 At 20-Day Meeting; Mr. Dink Top Money -Winning Horse Beulah Parks daily average attendance and pari-mutuel handle were slightly off the figures attained during the corresponding meeting last spring. The one-mile oval at Grove City, Ohio seven miles from Columbus conducted a 20-day meeting May 7-30, while last springs session comprised 19 programs. This springs total patronage~~was 110,-660, a daily mean of 5,533, compared to 5,871 in 154. The overall mutuel pool this year totaled ,992,338, a daily average of 49,617, exactly 3,093 less than the average per diem attained last spring. Individual leaders at Beulah Park for the term which concluded on Memorial Day were B. H. Wise, G. Manley, J. C. Pernandez and the thoroughbred, Mr. Dink. The latter annextd two events for earnings of ,600 to top the respective gleanings of a triumvirate of horses which won three races apiece. This trio was Dis Pete, second in earnings with ,450; Llanton, ,250, and Versatile, ,075. Wise Stable Leader With ,350 Wise colorbearers won four races and finished third a like number of times to amass ,350 in purses. The Wise total was ,050 more than compiled by the charges of P. L. Rice, whose silks flashed in front on six occasions, in addition to registering three seconds and three thirds. / Manley wound up with 10 winners to take training honors. Manleys saddle successes numbered three more than H. H. Chopin and E. G-fahoney each posted. Fernandez won with 20 of his 129 mounts to win the jockey championship. Fernandez closest competitor was E. Coff-man, who scored with 16 of 124 mounts. J. Tracey had the top percentage of .25, but he rode in only 49 races, in which he brought home an even dozen first.
