Rose, Former Michigan Turf Official, Dies of Coronary DETROIT, Mich., June 1.— Arthur Rose, prominent in Michigan racing circles for many years, passed away late Tuesday afternoon in the office of his Mt. Clemens automobile agency. Rose, victim of a stroke and heart attack, was formerly secretary of the Michigan State Racing Commission, serving under William J. Dowling from 1943 through 1946. Rose had two horses registered at the local course, the five-year-old mare, Vie, and a two-year-old colt, Dicks Harp. Roses thoroughbreds are under the supervision of trainer George C. White, who had a long association with the deceased turfman and businessman. j Funeral arrangements for Rose had not been announced at a late hour today. j i i y i i i i
