Directors of Jockeys Guild Weigh Shoemaker Suspension NEW YORK, N. Y.. May 10.— Directors of the Jockeys Guild riding in New York today informaly discussed the suspension of Wilile Shoemaker for his ride in the Keintucky Derby but no official action was taken. Sterling Young, secretary of the guild, also plans to discuss the case with the other directors scattered throughout the country. He said he would have a state- ! ment within 24 hours. Shoemaker was suspended for misjudg- ing the finish line while riding Ralph Lowes Gallant Man in the Kentucky Derby.
