HEDYS BEST disposed of FIGHTING THREE going into the backstretch, drew off to a comfortable lead while going to the far turn, lost command to LITTLE FISHOOK in deep stretch, then came on again to gain a narrow decision. The latter, under strong restraint early, moved boldly to the winner entering the stretch, reached the lead, then faltered slightly in the late yards. SHINY PETER closed with a belated rush. LEN-A CHANCE rnde up some ground late. FIGHTING THREE retired gradually after losing the lead. BRIAN EORU had no response when put to pressure. CELANDINE turned in a dull effort. ZED set the pace under light restraint, drew off going to the far turn and, coming slightly wide into the stretch, increased his margin in the final run. FLYING SPUR made a bid into the stretch and then gave ground to the winner thereafter. FLYING RUMOR lacked the necessary response. ORANGEAIRE only proved best of the others. RIPOPIC raced slightly wide throughout without giving any speed. Overweight— Orangeaire, 3 pounds. Attendance, 7,073; Total Mutuel Pool, 61,091.
