I . May 15. — The starting field for Mondays fifth running of the 0,000 added Lincoln Special, .mile and one-sixteenth feature, that highlights the closing-day program here, took on another member this morning with the announcement from Garden State Park that Leon Santores Helfast will be in the line-up. Helfasts commitment raised the field to eight thus far, with several other eligibles expected to join the ranks before closing time of entries on Friday. Helfast, who featured practically all of the overnight handicaps earlier in the meeting, holds a neck verdict over Rockcastle, another of the Special starters, qualified in good fashion for the upcoming stakes by invading Garden State and whipping a star field, including Ricci Vici and Liberty Sun, last Wednesday. Tranner E. B. Stewart informed racing secretary Gordon Morrow this morning from Garden State that the six-year-old Heliopolis horse who ran the mile and one- sixteenth of the winning Jersey race in 1:42?5. three-fifths of a second off the track record, will be returned to Lincoln Thursday and that arrangements are being made to secure the services of Sam Boul-I metis. Already another of the nations top riders is slated for action in the Special, when Eddie Arcaro. making his first appearance in silks here, handles J. J. Crowleys First Served, due to arrive here via plane from New York tomorrow. This running of the [Special not only promises to lure some, of the top-flight thoroughbreds, but is also attracting many of the fust-rate jockeys. The starting field for this first major test of the 1957 New England season has already been assured of seven other stars in addition to Helfast. Those definitely named include Colella and Formas Switch On, Mauro and Bowens Fabricator, J. J. Crowleys First Served, Mclvor Pricketts Motor Line, Robert O. J. Streubers Pylades, Mrs. J.
