LINCOLN ROAD took a short lead around the far turn and, shaking off LEATHER BUTTON, had ample left to withstand IN THE COUNTRY and was not being hard urged at the end. IN THE COUNTRY moved up in the stretch and finished steadily on the outside of the winner. LEATHER BUTTON had early speed but gradually dropped back in the final furlong. Won ridden out; second and third driving; LEGATEE gained gradually on RIPPSY nearing the stretch turn and, catching her at midsfetch, drew out slightly and was then shaken up to hold VIE EN ROSE. The latter was never far away and came steadily under urging m the stretch. RIPPSY opened up a lengthy lead after going a quarter mile but weakened in the stretch. The latter, never far away, closed with good courage on the outside of the winner. KENTUCADET went wide in the stretch but was going strongly at the end. FRUSTRATER. outrun early, saved ground in the stretch. GAYFUL tired badly. BELL-ARRAY moved up after entering the stretch, then swerved and tired. W. moved up strongly on the outside nearing the far turn and gaining gradually on RICH ANN in the stretch, wore her down to win slowly drawing out. RICH ANN opened up a good early lead and saved ground in the stretch but was not strong enough. NANTUCKET finished steadily. MUSCLES tired. TALKING JULIE was in tight quarters around the far turn. TAKE IT EASY saved ground in the stretch. MOOSE SIGN drew out from BIM BIM after going a quarter but bore out badly in the last furlong to finish on the extreme outside. LARK SUN was in close quarters on the inside early but improved his position in the stretch to easily best the others. JIMS WHIM set most of the pace but tired badly in the last furlonq. GRANT H. was slow to get in best stride and was outrun for six furlongs, then came to the outside in the stretch to close up fast and take command, winning going away. BOBTAG was well rated while making the pace and held on fairly well. CLOSING loomed up after entering the stretch but faltered in the final drive. BLUE RENO was off poorly, then made a fair bid after entering the last quarter but had little left. GUIDED BOMB stopped badly. Grant H. claimed by E. J. Bolser. trainer same.
