Calumet Farm Pair! I In Smart Workouts Bardstown, Barbizon Drill Three-Quarters in 1 :122/i Between Races at Camden GARDEN STATE PARK. Camden. N. J.. May 15. — Calumet Farms Bardstown and Barbizon indicated they are nearing peak form and that they soon may be seen in competition when they put on a smart display of .speed when they finished in an un- J official "dead heat at the finish of an , impressive three-quarters of a mile spin between the second and third races here this aiternoon. Both horses had their regular exercise boys in the saddle and they completed the six furlongs in 1:12%. which they galloped out seven furlongs in 1:25%. Barbizon Breaks on Inside : Barbizon broke on the inside as they neared the three-quarters pole and the two horses stepped along with grace and ease, although it was necessary for the rider to shake up Barbizon somewhat during the last sixteenth of a mile.- The following fractions wre recorded: :12. :23%. :35. :47. :59% and 1:12%. Both horses appeared to slacken their stride in the last eighth, which was revealed by the following eighths: :12. :11%, :11%, :12, :12% and :13. Trainer H. A. "Jimmy" Jones was on hand to supervise the move and he expressed satisfaction. Barbizon originally was slated to compete in last Saturdays Delaware Valley, but was a late declaration. He was also entered to run in a race scheduled fer Monday, but there were not a suificient number of entries and the race was not carded. Jones said that he has no definite plans for either Barbizon, who won the worlds richest race, The Garden State, over this . track last season, and Bardstown, who won the Quaker City and Trenton. Barbizon is an eligible for the 0,000-added Jersey Stakes, at a mile and one furlong, to be run here on Saturday, May 25, while Bardstown is among the nominations for the 0.000-added Camden Handicap, mile and furlong race to be decided on Saturday, June 1.
