Rate Swear Off Strong Fort Miami Choice Today Mrs. Jane Kramers Consistent Veteran After Fourth Straight By T. J. MULLIGAN PORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May 15.— The eighth race, a mile and 70 yards test for four-year-olds and older, is the chief offering on Thursdays nine-race card at Fort Miami and six capable performers who have been campaigning at the current session will vie fag honors. Swear Off. a blood bay son of Pass Out, who races in the colors of Mrs. J. Kramer, looks like a repeater in the afternoons main event and may wind up the prohibitive favorite. Swear Off scored an easy win in his last start a week ago for his third straight triumph. He won by nine lengths and covered the mile and a sixteenth Id 1:48 over a fast racing strip. Jockey Lyman Richards, who has been riding very successfully here and who was aboard the Kramer representative in his last outing, will again handle the reins. The Peer, who flaunts the silks of W. J. Tufts, appears to be the logical contender and should go well. This altered son of By Jimminy visited the charmed circle here a fortnight ago but failed to click in his last pair of outings. However, trainer A. F. Karam has handled him patiently and a peak performance may be in order Thursday. Counsellor Eli, who is owned and conditioned by the accomplished horsewoman Iva Mae Parrish, may be a keen factor when the field gets underway as this lady trainer has been very successful to date. She is tied or the leading money winning owner with the Fischer and Fruchtman stable and is seventh in the race for leading trainers honors having tightened the girths on eight winners at the meeting.
