New Feature in Ascot Gold Cup ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 5.— A new feature has been added to the Ascot Gold Cup this season. Each time a mile and five-sixteenths qualifying race is run at the meeting, racing secretary Charles F. Henry adds 00 to the purse of the Cold Cup which has a purse of 0,000 added this season. Henry Theorizes that a premium should accrue to trainers willing to train for distance in the spring and his method should make the Gold Cup this season the richest in the history of the race, as there have been 13 races over the distance thus far.
