♦-— — . See Continuous Meets in 60 At Marylands Major Tracks BALTIMORE, Md., May 5.— There is every indication lhat the 1960 Maryland racing: schedule will be drastically revised to provide uninterrupted meeting: at the states three major thoroughbred tracks. Under this plan, Bowie would open the season with a 40-day meeting- in the winter, to be followed by 40 days of racing- at Pimlico. The final meeting would be a 40-day session at Laurel in the fall. If this schedule is adopted, it is believed the Preakness Stakes, currently the second jewel in the Triple Crown, would be run two weeks before the Kentucky Derby, heretofore the first leg of the series. This revised schedule would have its greatest effect on Pimlico and Laurel, Bowie has, for the past several years, run all of its allotted dates in continuous meeting during February and March.
