J. Thomsons Cancel, unbeaten in two starts to date and a solid choice with the crowd, broke last and wound up beating but one member of the eight-horse field. Races in Third Position Hillsvale broke running from the barrier under the handling of apprentice Ray Vincifora to follow in third position, just over a length removed from the pace-making Hello Swifty.
