Tomy Lee Boards Train For Trip to California Rich Hollywood Derby on June 27 Is Colts Next Major Objective CHURCHILL DOWNS, Louisville, Ky., May 5. — Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Turner Jr.s Tomy Lee, hero of Saturdays 85th Kentucky Derby, is due to leave the scene of his greatest triumph at 9:00 P. M. tonight by train and make the lengthy journey westward to his California headquarters, according to trainer Frank Childs. Itinerary for the three-year-old son Of Tudor Minstrel places him in Chicago at 7:00 P. M. Wednesday, with departure from the Windy City scheduled for later that afternoon. The end of the 2,000 miles journey will be reached Friday noon when his special express car arrives in Los Angeles. Tomy Lee came out of his derby engagement in great shape, according -to Childs, and is now to be pointed for the 00,000 added Hollywood Derby on June 27, at Hollywood Park. Childs also revealed that the colt would receive a tune-up race prior to that mile and one-quarter run but was still undecided as to just when it would be as he had several choices as to distance and conditions. Turners Touleg and a stable pony will join Tomy Lee on his triumphant return as will a quartet of thoroughbreds owned by Neil S. McCarthy. This latter group is comprised of Finnegan, sixth in the Derby, the broodmares Belle of Shannon and Last Wave, and a two weeks old foal of Belle of Shannon. Childs and his wife, Madelon, will not return direct to the west coast but instead fly to Washington, D. C. tonight to visit with their son and his family until Sunday, following which they will plane out for Los Angeles, arriving there that same evening. The younger Childs is a colonel in the Air Force and is stationed in the nations capitol.
