CHEERFULNESS eased back from the inside and was sent to the outside after a quarter mile, came around horses on the turn, moved to the inside of the leaders to get command and was hard ridden to hold PHIL G. safe. The latter was steered to the inside through the stretch and closed strongly. DIXIES PAL forced the early pace, assumed command, drew" clear, but was not good enough. THE CRITTER closed strongly from off the pace. AUNTIE MUTT moved close to the i leaders after a half mile, then weakened and came back bleeding" profusely. RIVER-BED was along the rail in an even effort.- COURT GRAND was unable to keep up. BIG BRUSH OFF showed nothing. HAITI E WAR quit. The others were outrun. LITTLE HOPE moved with a rush after a half mile, caught the leader after six furlongs, was steered to the outside for the drive and outfinished . FRED G. The latter was steered to the inside early, then to the outside down the backstretch, only to come back to the inside through the stretch. HAIR STYLIST, sluggish in the early stages, finished with good energy. GAY COURIER failed to respond to strong urging. HOT TIME weakened after a half mile. EXPORT TRADE alternated in establishing the pace for six furlongs and flattened out w_hen put to pressure. HIGH HUNCH had no mishap. NETHERBY quit after six furlongs. SKEIN tired. ODDSPRING was through jsarly. TILLERETTE bolted after a half mile, was taken up and galloped back of the field. Scratched— 56273 Linger, 105. Won driving; second and third the same. SUN HALO, a forward factor on the outside of the leader, was forced to go wide on the final turn, responded gamely to stout urging and drew clear near the end. MISS SICLETTE rushed up along the inside to take an early lead, continued to dominate to the final turn, drifted out badly and was giving way, but was, easily best of the others. USUAL closed willingly under steady urging. LADY EDWINA dropped out of contention early, Saved ground when roused, but was unable to menace. FIRST CURTAIN weakened. EDDIE SUE moved rapidly around the field on the far turn, assumed command before entering the stretch and increased margin easily. FIGHTING THRU was hustled into command, came over sharply when put to an early drive, held on gamely to the furlong pole, then weakened. TEA PATCH had no mishap. PEACH BUD had early speed, was forced to take up sharply on the far turn, recovered, but was unable to reach the leaders. OLD RELIABLE went evenly. The others were outrun. POOPCHA outran the field to take a clear lead, saved ground and held on gamely until the furlong pole before weakening. TOP BRASS caught tiring horses. SO WELL was used up forcing the pace.
