LYNVETE, on the outside most of the way, gained steadily after a half mile, offered strong .contention, but was not good enough. POTTERTON, never far backy gave an even effort under strong riding. IMELDA closed resolutely from a slow beginning. JANE BRUSH could not keep up. ORIENTAL BOOT began well, but lacked speed. DEARZIN was outrun. MISS WISE, quit. PRINCE DANNY, a strong factor from the start, might have overhauled the winner but for being impeded. FIELD DAY, on the inside most of the way, was taken out in the stretch, closed gamely and was overhauling the leaders. ECCENTRIC went well in an improved effort. DORA MAY, away slowly, failed to be dangerous COHORT LASS was outrun. The others were outrun. QUEEN CLARICE, fractious at the post, reared up and unseated her rider, broke well and raced evenly. BJ.ANCHE C. had no excuse. HASTY HANNA forced the pace to the final eighth, then weakened.
