NISIA FURNISHES SURPRISE Pays Liberal Odds After Winning ! Main Race at Bainbridge Park Dodiodo. Second. CLEVELAND, Ohio, June 6. Somewhat of a surprise developed when V. H. McMuI-lens Nisia, led. by a comfortable margin throughout in the fifth race; which attracted the best field at Bainbridge Park this afternoon. Being lightly regarded, the Light Brigade mare returned a rather liberal dividend to those who liked her chances. Dodiodo, the popular choice, got away in close quarters, but raced up into second place on the far turn, which he retained thereafter, but he could never get to the winner. Following the running, Dodiodo went to M. Matuzewski on his claim of 50. Six Bells came from the rear to outstay Rex Regent for the show award. Although the weather was cloudy, the racing otherwise was staged under favorable conditions. A fair crowd for an off-day witnessed the sport, which was productive of numerous upsets, the favorites failing regularly. Jockey D. Edwards sent Sisko up on the outside while rounding the far turn and after taking command held the first race safe all during the stretch test. Prominent throughout, George withstood a bold challenge from Abstain for the second honors in the run home. Gay Days was well fancied but never threatened the leaders. Closing up with a fine burst of speed when straightened out for the stretch turn in the second race, Howtiz quickly overhauled Alcove, the leader, and drew away into an easy lead through the final furlong. Our Ship came strongly on the outside during the run home- and forced Alcove to do her utmost to . save second by a head. The veteran rider W. Boganowski piloted Sea Lassie to victory in masterly fashion in the third race. After disposing of Blithe approaching the turn for home, he had enough in reserve to withstand the fast-closing bid of Voco. After suffering interference and being sharply taken back when half the trip was completed, Ruffday raced into third place as Blithe tired during the final furlong. After racing within striking distance of Adrian, the pacemaker to the stretch, Muff took command and retained a length advantage all through the last eighth of the fourth race. In the final test, Bob Weidel outlasted Adrian for the second honors, with Urchin going fastest of all just outside the money.
