DAYTON INAUGURAL SATURDAY Indications Point to Successful Meeting- at Ohio City Eight Races Wednesdays and Saturdays. DAYTON, Ohio; June 6. With the arrival of more horses, swelling the total now oh the grounds to more than 300, and -with interest in the sport here running high, the opening of the nineteenniay summer meeting Saturday at the Dayton Jockey Club seemed assured of success. Jockey club officials have decided to offer an eight race program for the opening and cards of similar length will be presented on subsequent Wednesdays and Saturdays. Seven races will be offered on other days. Admission will be 25 cents. While attendants in the office of racing secretary John I. Kissane were busy accepting reservatons, issuing badges and generally completing plans for Saturdays opening, it was announced that Neil Reighbourne would be at the track Friday morning to represent the Ohio State Racing Commission. He will issue licenses at that time. Among the larger stables which will be campaigned at this meeting are those of Lee Niles, R. P. Gillette, R. S. Ward, C. Wedderstrand, C. T. Hall, J. H. Hughes, E. J. Wood, P. M. Sturm, R. E. Spicer, R. T. Reed, Ben Gentile, P. C. James, Jr., -W. B. Moore and Jimmie Simmons. Herbert J. Kohl, who will have charge of the riders, said there would be plenty of able jockeys ready to ply their trade. Among them is the promising apprentice, A. Fernandez, who rode his first winner during the recent Beulah Park session and then went on to be the leading rider of the meeting. Among other riders here are R. G. Cooper, G. Quackenbush, D. E. Froggate, B. Myres, H. Morgan and R. Reeves.
