PEAR moved up stoutly midway of the turn, but was unable to reach the leaders under punishment. SEPTEMBER CHILD, forwardly placed from the beginning, was unable to improve her position when called upon. UNCLE JULY closed some ground. IRISH HERO faltered after showing early speed. KRONA moved up stoutly on the outside, continued gamely to the close, but was unable to threaten the winner. OVER YONDER moved up steadily, saved ground in the stretch and closed with good energy. MILD MANNERS, away fast, dropped back badly, then closed gamely through the last quarter. FREE SPIRIT was unable to reach the leaders. CABLEGRAM was never a serious threat. BOSTON BROOK, quickest to begin but lacking speed to maintain his position, dropped back, moved up on the inside rounding the far turn, assumed command before reaching the stretch and held his field safe to the end. " UP AND UP, away slowly, worked his way up gradually at a loss of ground and closed in determined fashion in the last five-sixteenths. GALON BOY, in the forefront throughout, closed with determination. HEADIN HOME, hustled through on the inside in the first eighth to take command, weakened in the closing quarter mile. BIG SHOW closed some ground in the last five-sixteenths. POPO was on the outside all tha way. MADWIND was never a factor. STRAIT JACKET tired badly in the last half mile. RAMUS had speed from the start, showed in front briefly, but was unable to keep pace, though he fought it out courageously to the end. MOMO, unruly at the post, came with a belated rush in the last quarter mile. MYNAH was never a serious threat. OGLE was never prominent. PROSECUTOR forced the pace of TODY WEST, went to the front when called upon, lost some ground at the stretch turn and, holding on tenaciously, just failed to last. PLUMAGE improved her position gradually on the outside and finished with good energy. YANCEY, well up for the first half mile, weakened thereafter. TODY WEST tired after racing the first .half mile. WASWANNAPPI follovyed in closest pursuit of the early pace, wore down CAP PISTOL for the command and, opening up a good lead, dominated the running for the remainder of the way, winning with speed in reserve. CAPPOQUIN worked his way up gradually and closed with good energy in the closing drive. BEFITTING, under restraint early, moved upmenacingly leaving the back stretch, but was unable to reach the winner under punishment and faltered slightly in the drive. TARBUCKET was well placed and, restrained early, was unable to reach the leaders when called upon. CAP PISTOL had speed for th first half mile, but tired. SAXOVA had early speed. JOE JAY unseated his rider before the start and was unable to enter contention. PUG UGLY quit. Scratched 11397 Betty Gibson, 102; 11397 Joemac, 107; 10588 Eddie Wrack, 102.
