SHEBANG moved into the lead after going a sixteenth, was rated along in front,, was shaken up at the stretch turn when she was inclined to loaf and won in a handy manner. RELIANT broke fast but dropped back when the winner challenged, though was much the best of the others. UNFURL raced forwardly throughout, but was doing its best at the end to hold SHEATHE. The latter, shuffled back after the break, could not secure clear passage until reaching the final eighth. JUSTA GIRO showed speed for three-eighths, but fc raced wide entering the stretch. The latter, shuffled back right after the break, steadily worked his way up on the outside rounding the turn, finished with splendid courage and just failed? to wear the winner down. RETIRED possessed the most early speed, set a keen pace, but tired suddenly after straightening out in the stretch. PAGEANTRY had no excuses. The latter had much early speed, raced slightly wide at the stretch and tired during the final drive. IRISH HERO showed an even race at all times. SHOT GUN closed some ground. MONEY MUDDLE, a trailer until entering the stretch, finished with a big burst of speed through the last eighth to catch PROTEUS at the end. The latter forced the running most of the trip, but tired when put to the final test. REMROFREP, after showing high speed for a half mile, quit badly and was eased up at the finish. The latter had plenty of early speed, saved ground at all times and came on again under pressure in the last part. HIGHDRY raced well back for a half mile, then closed with a big rush when clear in the stretch run. HOOSIC MAID had no excuses. LITTLE HONEY, sent along with the leaders for a half mile, retired fast when the final issue came. SUNNY SUSAN moved up threateningly at the stretch head, but quit suddenly right at the end.
