t FOREIGN TURF NOTES s Up to the end of April, Joseph E. Widener had won four races, worth about 8,000, in France. Trainer George Batchelor performed the unusual feat of winning two races, one on the flat, the other over the hurdles, with the same horse on the same day at a meeting in France.
