NATIONS TASTE, suited by the going and showing speed from the start, forced ROBERT L. very wide on the stretch turn, then drew away fast after straightening up for the final three-sixteenths and had something left. ROBERT L. had good speed from the start, lost much ground on the stretch turn and tired in the final eighth, but outstayed NEVER TIRE. The latter, away slowly and raced wide, improved his position gradually and was going well in the final stages. OVERPLAY was under strong riding throughout and held on well. UVALDE bean slowly. BE SHY, makine his first start in some time and under strong riding after the first quarter, raced around BOARD TRADE in the stretch and, holding on well, withstood MORNING MAILS bid. The latter, probably best and raced very wide, closed strongly and was rapidly wearing down the winner. BOARD TRADE raced into a lone lead easily, saved ground throughout, but. gave way badly in the last three-sixteenths. FREE SPIRIT also saved ground, showed speed from the start and swerved badly under weak handling in the stretch. HUEU could not improve his position. The others were far back throughout. BON CENTIME forced the early pace under restraint -and took a short lead in the stretch, but could not withstand the leaders. MR. RICKS quit badly. OUR PATTY was through early. RALPH C. was outrun. REGARDS was under mild pressure in the final three-eiehths and held on fairly well. CAPTAIN RED dropped bark suddenly cn the stretch turn, but came again mildly near the end. SUNNED, at home in the going and rated off the pace, came to the outside in the stretch and, closing resolutely under good handling, disposed of BUSHMASTER and then drew out. The latter, much used to race EURYALUS into submission, was under strong riding in the final five-sixteenths and held on well, but was unable to withstand the winner. KIEVA dropped far out of it on the turn, came to the outside in the stretch and tired after moving up, but outstayed EURYALUS. The latter displayed good speed from the start, stumbled on the stretch turn and tired thereafter. THE DARB showed little. LADY FEDERAL was outrun. Scratched 26402 Ep, 112. SURCOUF, placed forwardly early, was taken in hand while setting the pace, gave way entering the stretch, impeded REPAID, then rallied to strong riding and was up to win in the final strides. The latter forced the pace without need of pressure, took command approaching the stretch, gave good response to stronc riding, but could not resist the winner. MISS SAXON raced evenly without mishap. EXPONENT could not improve his position under pressure. The others were outrun.
