1 LATONIA TURF NOTES $ : Jockey A. Morgan was suspended five days by the stewards for piling up the field soon after the start in the first race here Tuesday. Bennet Creech, who has been here several days seeking racing material, closed deals for three horses, purchasing Sweep Like from Mrs. J. C. Gillem and Gilbert Elston and Brown Witch from Mose Goldblatt. The trio and possibly one or two others will be shipped to Det roit for racing at that point. Jockey Johnny Maiben, veteron of the saddle, donned the silks for the first time during the Latonia meeting when he accepted the mount on Clive in the sixth race on Tuesdays card. J. Perez, former jockey, has taken over Deerwood to train for N. Levinson. The racer was formerly conditioned by his owner. Frank P. Letellier, New Orleans turfman,, announced the purchase of the two-year-old colt Big Fellow from Mrs. Jane Peary. The terms of the transaction were private. Jockey H. Martin reported ill Tuesday morning and was permitted to cancel his engagement on Troika in the seventh race and E. Ramsey was substituted. J3ue to the reduced field in the fifth race, programmed for Tuesday afternoon, racing secretary Shelley declared the original fifth off and the original second was split two ways, being run as the second and fifth races.
