I DETROIT TURF NOTES 3 $ Apprentice Charley Parkes ten-day suspension expired Tuesday and the lad will resume riding Wednesday. William Quigley announced Tuesday morning that he has resigned as presiding steward at Seattle. The Washington meeting conflicts with the two Detroit seasons, and judge Quigley decided to remain in the East. Clarence E. Lehr, president of the Detroit Racing Association, leaves here Thursday for New York to witness the running of the Belmont Stakes. Headed by Whopper, the division of the Hal Price Headley stable Duval Headley unloaded here Tuesday morning, included Preeminent, Fraidy Cat, Baby Sis, Sparta, Peel-erine, The Queen, Clingendaal, Apogee, Agathon, Old Nassau and two others. Jockey W. Saunders is with the stable. The C. S. Howard string, which arrived from the West Tuesday morning, comprised Good Politian, El Bandido, Happy Fellow, Lou Machado, Coramine, Star Singer, Smart Agnes, Sun Frolic, Final Appeal, Toney Boot, Beau Mar and Aukar.
