I HAWTHORNE TURF NOTES s Sisters of the late Jake Burg, who died of appendicitis soon after being removed from a train at Ogden, Utah, two weeks ago, wish to thank their many friends among the horsemen for expressions of sympathy. A letter acknowledging their grateful thanks was received Tuesday by Richard Watts. Burg had been connected with the turf for many years. Additions to Mrs. Ethel V. Mars Milky Way Farms arrived Monday at Arlington Park. They came from the Milky Way Farm in Tennessee and included several juveniles. This stable is sending Reaping Reward and Nations Taste to Detroit for the Moslem Stakes, to be run Saturday. Headed by the Chicago Derby candidate Tugboat Frank, the stable of J. L. Roberts unloaded at Hawthorne Tuesday morning. Included in the shipment were Linlace, Continuity, Mars Palatine, Cablegram, Sea Fox, Hokuao, Lee Laffoon and Prince Sador. Jockey John Deering came with Roberts. Following his engagement in the Chicago Derby here Saturday, Rushaway will be shipped to Suffolk Downs, where he will fill another important stakes engagement July 4. A division of the Shandon Farm Stable consisting of six horses was transferred from Hawthorne to Arlington Park. Trainer J. J, Greely will transfer the remainder of the Shandon string next week. B. B. Williams is transferring a number of Warren Wrights Calumet Farm horses from Hawthorne to Arlington Park, Wednesday.
