DETROIT TURF NOTES 4, t Dr. A. L. Copland, Jr., who has been training a division of the Fred M. Alger, Jr., stable, took over the division formerly handled by Alex Wilson Azucar, Dark Winter, Sergay, Molecule, Genet and Ruthenium in the future will be trained by Copland. C. T. Fishers Matas Brother and Manager Mike, the latter named for the manager of the Detroit Tigers, arrived from Latonia in charge of C. Howard. Stevenson will, ride one of the horses, and in the event Mrs. A. M. Creech does not have an entry, Charles Parvin will be astride the other one. Robert Newman, a product of Ferndale, Mich., had his first mount when he rode Golden Gwyn in the second race Tuesday. He is under contract to J. McDowell. Jockey Joe Jacobs arrived from New England and will ride free lance. Solomon Greenberg will make his engagements. At the close of this meeting Jacobs reports to Joe Chesney at Thistle Downs. Sidney Brown is distributing condition books for the Arlington Park meeting.
