I LATONIA TURF NOTES S Clyde Van Dusen Tuesday shipped the two Dixiana juveniles Manager Mike and Matas Brother to Detroit to fill engagements Saturday in the Moslem Temple Stakes. Jockey Charles Stevenson will follow Wednesday to ride one of the youngsters. The first issue of the Arlington Park condition book was received here Tuesday by Larry Bogenschutz, who is distributing them among horsemen at Latonia. Edward Heitz, 19-year-old Fort Thomas, Ky., youth, will resume his riding career in earnest during the remainder of the Latonia meeting after having completed his education at St. Xavier High School, in Cincinnati. Heitz. who scales 103 pounds, rode nineteen races at Coney Island last summer and then returned to school without having ridden a winner. He is under contract to R. L. Davis, also of Fort Thomas. G. Vance will make his riding engagements. Jockey Joe Marinelli was an arrival from Detroit and got into action Tuesday afternoon. He plans to remain here for the balance of the meeting. C. C. Van Meter shipped the thoroughbreds under his care to Lexington, where they will be freshened up for a few weeks and then put back in training for the meeting at Dade Park. Charles Nolte, Latonia track superintendent, is recovering from an attack of blood poisoning.
