FAVORITES HAVE BIG DAY Public Choices Run to Form at Omaha Tankie Accounts for Juvenile Race. OMAHA, Neb., June 16. Favorites came into their own at Ak-Sar-Ben field Tuesday afternoon when public choices clicked in the first two races. After My Model, a Nebraska-bred, had taken the long end of the purse in the opener, Tankie, a two-year-old filly, came? back to win the second race. It was the second success of the meeting for both animals. Jockey H. Simmons, one of the best jockeys now riding at Omaha, had the mount on My Model in the opener and there was nothing wrong with his riding. He had his mount well up throughout to win going away. Tankie, under the guidance of Frank Grill, followed the pace of Star Bess in the second race to get to the front near the end. Residents of northern -Iowa will be guests of the Ak-Sar-Ben management Thursday afternoon. Twenty-six communities in the northern part of the Hawkeye state will send delegations to the track. The feature race on that day will be known as the Atlantic Handicap. .!
