1 LONG BRANCH TURF NOTES s M. J. Sansone purchased the two-year-old Black Cohort from Mrs. R. Fairbanks at private terms and the colt performed for his new owner in the first race on Monday. N. Hlynskys Denclaire, which won the seventh race Saturday, picked up three additional pounds in her engagement in Mondays seventh race by reason of her victory. The mare carried 118 pounds. j Leo Feeney, trainer for Riverdale Stable and an ex-jockey, died in St. Josephs Hospital Saturday night after being taken suddenly ill on Saturday. Feeney rode for several years for Hymie Neusteter. Racing secretary C. F. Henry wishes to call attention to patrons who have claimed horses during the present meeting at Long Branch that the claiming rule stipulates an advance of 25 per cent is necessary over the original claiming price for a period of thirty racing days. Mr. Henry states that this rule will also obtain during the meeting at Duf-ferin Park and that a list of all claims will be sent to the Independent Candian Racing Association and to the National Association of State Racing Commissioners, the latter body sponsoring the claiming rule. Anyone violating this rule will be denied future privileges at Long Branch, Dufferin Park, Queens Park and Kenihvorth. Busy scenes were being enacted Tuesday at Long Branch, horses that are not engaged being transferred to Dufferin Park where the seven day meeting gets under way Saturday, June 20. The balance of those that arc not remaining over at the suburban course will be vanned to Dufferin Wednesday. Reports from the Hamilton Jockey Club arc to the effect that all stalls have been reserved for the meeting beginning June 27 and extending to July 4. .1 J 13 "J 1
