A. Roles; bred by Mr. S. W. Labrot. WENT TO POST 2:17. AT POST minute. Start good and slow. Won handily; second and third ridden out. GLAD WINGS, well placed from the start, moved into a good lead when overtaking the early pacemaker and drew away to win with speed to spare. BALADINE, in close quarters during the opening five-sixteenths, closed with splendid energy when obtaining ample racing room. GLEAMING, badly outrun for the first three-eighths, closed a big gap in the last three-sixteenths. CONSISTENT was well placed the entire trip, but was unable to keep pace in the drive. MARY ELISE came wide into the stretch and closed with good energy. TRAUWINA, in close quarters, had to take back when SLEEP WELL bore over nearing the stretch. QUIET LASS had brief speed. TRAITRESS, shuffled, back soon after the start, was going willingly at the end. HAPPY DINAH displayed good speed for the first three-eighths, but quit badly during the stretch run. Goodloe. Winner entered to be claimed for ,500. WENT TO POST 2:48. AT POST 2 minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. BLUE DAY was steadied along back of the pace, moved up on the outside under vigorous handling and was along in the closing strides to wear down ROUGH PARTY. The latter, well placed all the way, drew clear and, despite holding on tenaciously, was unable to stave off the closing bid of the winner. THE BAILIFF, unable to keep up early, closed willingly in the stretch run. BACON, racing in four bandages, displayed good speed for the first half mile and was unable to keep pace in the final drive. PHARATIME, well placed and restrained early, tired in the last five-sixteenths. MARSON had brief early speed. POCKET PIECE was never a factor. He was worked out an additional eighth. LONG BIT, away fast but lacking speed to keep pace with the leaders, was under hard riding to hold to a prominent position, came to the outside in the stretch and, responding gamely, was along in the closing strides. LITTLE DINAH assumed a slight lead in the opening sixteenth, disposed of MEROVECH and just failed to hold the winner. MOISSON, unable to keep up. during the first quarter mile, began moving up on the outside and closed with good energy in the closing drive. MYPONNE, outrun for the first half mile, closed determinedly in the last quarter mile. JEAN LEE moved up threateningly on the inside leaving the back stretch, then quit in the stretch run. STAROGAN had speed from the start, fought it out determinedly for the lead with TOANO for the first half mile and drew out steadily in the last five-sixteenths. TOANO, away fast, fought it out courageously, but was unable to keep pace with the winner in the stretch run. MAPLE QUEEN raced forwardly placed all the way, but was unable, to reach the first two. SCOTCH QUEEN saved ground all the way and was unable to reach serious contention. RED JUG, shuffled back at the start, closed some ground. He pulled up lame. BANK HOLIDAY was never prominent. SUNCRAX, quick to begin and in nearest pursuit of the winner, held on well in. the closing drive. SOMALI, unable to keep iip early, came in determined fashion through the closing eighth. GREEDY was well up throughout, but was unable to improve her position In the closing test. NO DICE made up some ground. SUN CHAUCER, away well, lacked speed to keep up and was unable to make up any ground in the drive. JACK O SPADES faltered after going three-eighths. ENFIN was away slowly and far back throughout. CASCAPEDIA, well ridden, was not hurried during the early stages, was taken to the outside when making his effort, worked his way up gradually and, holding to a position on the outside when reaching the stretch, wore down the leaders and was going away at the end. WAR GAMES, unruly at the post, moved through on the inside at the turn into the back stretch, worked his way up forwardly and held on well in the closing test. FIRST BID, unable to keep up early, saved much ground at the stretch turn and closed determinedly. KEOKEE, was much, used in racing with FELSA, gained command .nearing the stretch, but tired in the closing eighth. FELSA displayed good speed, then tired in the last quarter mile. GUARDIAN was steadied along in back of the pace established by LADDIE STONE, wore down the pacemaker when reaching the itrctch and, vigorously ridden, held command to the close. LADDIE STONE outran his field to the first turn, was steadied along in front and came again after being overtaken! WOULD DARE worked his way up steadily in the last half mile and closed with good courage. DORMIDO, a trailer for the first three-quarters, made up some ground through the stretch. SMEAR was well placed early, but could not improve his position when called upon. BETHLEHEMSTAR was outrun all the way. PATCH EYE was unable to gain a prominent position. HAPPY EASTER faltered. HICKORY LAD, under steadying restraint while racing in pursuit of the pace, began moving up on tha outside leaving the back stretch, wore down the leaders when reaching the stretch and drew out steadily in the last eighth. ZEMBLA moved up gradually in the last half mile and closed determinedly in the stretch-run. ALLENFERN forced the early pace and, while no match for the winner, just surrendered the place in the last few strides. BOUNDING COUNT could never reach the leaders, though passing tired horses in the last quartet mile. FEZ displayed good speed in the pacemaking, faltering in the last three-sixteenths.
