SIR ORACLE, quick to begin and under light pressure early, came around VIAJERO when responding to severe punishment in the stretch and drew out fast in the final eighth. SKEETER, never a great distance hack, held on well. VIAJERO, on the inside throughout, displayed high speed from the start, but tired in the final eighth. IDYLLIC, impeded at the start and rushed to the leaders, tired after a half mile. GOLD FLAG also suffered interference at the start. SPURLIN showed little. INFLAME, forced back when racing on the inside in the first quarter, improved its position and was probably much the best, but .lost much ground on the stretch turn and, closing resolutely in a fine effort, appeared unlucky to lose. RALPH C, slow to begin, closed well. WOODWAY, lucky to keep up when in close quarters early, tired in the stretch. JERRY H. had no mishaps. BIRDS EYE, also lucky to keep up early, quit badly.
