NELLIE FLAGS FAST MILE Nellie Flag, Warren Wrights star filly and one of the favorites for the Illinois Owners Handicap, to be run at Hawthorne next Saturday, turned in another sparkling trial in preparation for that race when she clicked off a mile at Hawthorne Friday in 1:40. Trainer Bert B. Williams had her on the. track between the second and third races. She ran the opening quarter in :24, half mile in :47, three-quarters in lilZVs and seven-eighths in 1:26.
