TRUE CHARM followed the pace closely for a half mile, then forged to the front and held on gamely in a hard drive. SWEETBROOM sprinted into the lead on the way to the first turn, was displaced from the pace by TRUE CHARM, but hung on with determination to the finish. PRECIOUS KING was under pressure throughout, but could not improve his position. JUST REMEMBER, away slowly, was never a real j - threat, lacking its usual stretch speed. MAPLE SUE was going well when too late. HYPH showed its usual flash of early speed, then quit badly when challenged. LOVELY MARY lost ground steadily. BE THERE displayed the best speed from the start, opened up a good lead but was tiring at the finish. FLAMING LIGHT, unable to keep up, made up an immense gap and was going strongest of ail at the finish. SUN ALLEY began backing up after going three-eighths. SWEET SUSAN, rated back of the pace until reaching the stretch turn, secured the lead, but was ridden out at the end to hold off OUR SHIP. The latter, also under restraint for the .first seven-eighths, moved up fast on the outside entering the stretch, but hung in the final drive. SAINTED showed good early speed, but tired when challenged. ROLLICK raced in the middle of the track at all times and finished gamely. RIVER ROSE quit after going a half mile.
