MAYFLOWER ATTRACTS EIGHT Airflame Gets Another Opportunity to Add to Fame in ,500 Stake at Boston. BOSTON, Mass., June 19. Several of the. outstanding two-year-olds of the country will race tomorrow in the Mayflower Satkes, a condition event over five furlongs, which headlines the week-end sport at Suffolk Downs. The race, which carries an added value of ,500, has drawn an overnight field of eight, with Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilts i Airflame, a winner in New York just a few days back and the holder of the worlds record for three-eighths, looming as a top-heavy choice. He is far and away the top weight under the conditions, conceding ten pounds to his nearest rival. His package is 121 pounds. The Ariel colt arrived here late yesterday afternoon and was given a slow breeze this morning. He appeared to be on keen edge. Sammy Renick will comes here to ride the horse. The Maemere Farms sends forth two fast-stepping colts in the race in an effort to wear Airflame out in the early stages and catch him at the end. Both Maedic and Rockwood showed well in Florida and also have appeared to advantage at New York courses. Both carry 111 pounds. However, second favoritism is likely to go to Yodel, which ran a sensational race in the Juvenile at Rockingham. The horse was left almost flatfooted at the post in this event, but came through the stretch like a streak of lightning to be beaten less than two lengths by Pegotty Ann. It was the most impressive performance any juvenile has turned in this season in New England. Calumet Farm will try for the race with -Talked About, a horse that showed to advantage during the Narragansett meeting; Greentrees Benjorine qualified for the stake by a smashing score over at Rockingham and should come in for support tomorrow. Clockers say that Willow Bud, from the stable of the Kentucky owner, R. W. Collins, has -plenty of speed and will be among the front runners in the early stages, Percy M-Pikes Early Settler appears outclassed, but was closing stoutly in his start at this course. The feature will be supported by the Gruen Handicap, at six furlongs, for the older division. The race has drawn a field of ten. The winning jockey will be presented with a Gruen watch. If the weather remains bright, a near capacity crowd should be present for the first Saturday of Suffolks summer meeting. Ladysnian worked between the second and. third races at Suffolk Downs Friday afternoon, one mile in 1:42, handily.
