DEAD HEAT PAY-OFF In dead heats, the method of pay-off away from the track is: Add the amount of money bet to the odds i laid and divide by two, the player and layer sharing equally. For instance, in the dead heat at Aqueduct in the I first race Friday, if was bet on II Papenie at 12 to 5, the pay-off would be .70 to the player and .70 to the layer; if was bet on Alexandrine at 6 to 1, the pay-off would be .50 to the player and .50 to the layer. c , naco CO C
