DOROTHY ALICE hustled into the lead shortly after the start, hckl on well when challenged and held MARY BIDDY safe. The latter closed steadily on the outside and was wearing the winner down. MY HERO, well placed in the early running, tired in the last eighth, but was easily best of the others. LYRINGA broke fast but lacked speed. The others never figured. HIGH FIDELITY, closest to the early pace, came to the outside in the stretch; finished gamely, wore down NOTAR and drew clear near the end. NOTAR, away fast, was hustled into a good lead in the first half mile, held on well, but was not good enough. DOROTHY CLARK, well placed in the early running, swerved to the inside in the stretch and outlasted GLENCOT for the show. The latter raced wide ail the way. ROSELAKE, outrun early, saved ground on the lower turn, came between horses in the stretch and, holding on gamely in the drive, just lasted to hold CLACK safe. The latter, far back, came throueh on the inside in the stretch, closed gamely under punishment and would have won in another stride. BANGOBAR, close up all the way. held on gamely in the drive. COTLO BESS, well placed in the early runnine, moved up gamely on the outside entering the stretch, but tired in the final sixteenth. DOMINANT STAR broke fast, was sent into a good lead in the first quarter mile, but tired badly in the final eighth. FRIEND FRED closed well. JULIA R. tired badly. SALVE was outrun.
