JOLIET HANDICAP OUTLOOK Prospective Field Depends Upon Condition of Track With Little Chance for Fast Going. CRETE, 111., Oct 1. Though there seems little or no chance for a fast track to prevail, few of the better two-year-olds have been scared out of the ninth running of the ,500 added Joliet Handicap, scheduled for Saturday at Lincoln Fields. From a dozen to sixteen seems the likely field right now. Racing secretary William H. Shelley scheduled the second juvenile race of the year at a distance of seven furlongs for the Friday card, and so attractive did this offering appear to owners of some of the stouter youngsters that several of the leading Joliet candidates have been named. It seems hardly likely that cither A. B. Hancocks good Re-cussion or J. W. Parrishs Dellor, both partial to heavy going and a longer route, will come right back in the stake after tomorrows event. The possibility remains, however. MAY BREAK "JINX." Tom Wordens Rifted Clouds, which will be favored to break the jinx that has kept all two-year-olds from winning two stakes In Illinois this season, is not such a pronounced choice with an off track in prospect. Rifted Clouds can run in soft going, biut two of her closest rivals, the Tranquillity Farm Stables Challite and the Rosedale Stables Lake View move up in the mud. Lake View, more than any of the nominess. would prefer something other than a fast racing strip. This good colt, son of White Satin Henrietta Wildair, scored his first Victory on a bad track over Orientalist. Since then he has proved that there are few around here which can beat him at his specialty. Prospects for the Joliet Handicaps large field include Mrs. W. Crumps Merina and Amateur Girl, Elmtree Stables Lady Sybil, Mose Goldblatts Dr. Menendez, A. B. Hancocks Recussion, C. B. Mears Crulia, Lee QDonnells Navarre, H. Oots Pharolar, J. W.
