v DISCOVERY TO BE RETIRED NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. l.-Discovcry will not start in The Jockey Club Gold Cup. Although no word was received at Belmont Park today as to owner A. G. Vanderbilts intentions, Daily Racing Form learned from another source that the son of Display has ran his last race of the season. He will bo transferred from Havre de Grae to Sagamore Farm. Despite Discoverys disappointing performance in the Havre de Grace Handicap at the Maryland track Wednesday, it was said that he probably would" be shipped, to Belmont Park for the two mllo stake.
