CORKER was prominently placed all the way, gained a slight lead when FRASCATI bore out at the stretch turn and, hard ridden, had enough in reserve to withstand the closing bid of ERUPTION. The latter was badly outpaced early, swung wide into the stretch and, closing stoutly, was wearing down the winner at every stride. POLYCHROME was away slowly and. far back until midway of the turn, closed in determined fashion on the inside through the stretch. MOONBURN was well placed and was unable to make up any ground when placed under punishment. PAQUES made up some ground. WITLESS met sharp interference and dropped back. FRASCATI Was hard hustled to get to the front, bore out badly at the stretch turn and was unable to recain lost ground. The latter was .quickest to begin, but lacked speed to keep pace with the winner early, though overtaking her during the closing stages. JACKFULL moved up stoutly approaching the stretch and, though finishing in determined fashion, was unable to reach the first two. MORLUTE raced well placed all the way. TRAMWAY closed a .big gap from a slow beginning. MEROVECH was unable to reach the leaders. HIGH FINANCE was well up during the opening five-sixteenths, but tired. CARISBROOKE quit badly. The latter, forwardly placed the entire trip, made, a bold effort to reach the leader, was not good enough, though continuing stubbornly to the close.
