FROST BITE BEATS GALE WAY Bostonian Five-Year-Old Triumphs in Third Race at Epsom Downs All-Claiming Program. HOUSTON, Tex., Oct. 22 Members of the sprint division monopolized the program at Epsom Downs Thursday afternoon, which was made up of seven dashes and one distance affair. All of the contests were claiming events and despite the lack of quality competing, some good sport was furnished the small week-day attendance. The Humble claiming event at three quarters of a mile and occupying fifth position was the best offering of the day and brought together seven to match strides. Gray clouds hovered over the course throughout the day, after a light sprinkle of rain during the morning, which was not sufficient to affect the track. George Kee-tons Frost Bite stepped down in advance of seven others in the six furlongs third race of the day, defeating Gale Way by a length, while Cheka was a like margin farther back in third place. Rated off the pace but always within striking distance of the leaders. Frost Bite came through on the rail entering the stretch and forged to the front.
