ANOTHER WIN FOR ACCOLADE Has Easy Time Capturing Honors in Bennington Handicap. Crowd of 20,000 on Hand for Final Day of Sport at Rockingham Course Bub-blesome Mild Surprise. SALEM, N. H., Oct 22, With no rain at Rockingham Park today, Don Christmas got a big break in the ,000 added Bennington Handicap, feature race of the closing day card. For it was honest old Accolade which accounted for the lions share of the purse despite the fact that he was asked to carry 123 pounds over the mile and a furlong distance. With perfect Indian summer weather prevailing it was all Accolade. Mountainy Man, from the barn of J. S. and T. S. Mulvihill, took the lead as the field came out of the gate and down past the grandstand for the clubhouse turn. Accolade and Chancing were right on his heels. As they straightened out into the back stretch Ray Wholey asked Accolade the question and the lion-hearted fellow answered with a rousing affirmative as he moved up on the outside to snatch the lead and put on speed that carried him coasting down the stretch to a two and a half lengths victory over Mountainy Man. The latter held on gamely and took the place one length in front of Mrs. L. H. Wards Tugboat Frank. The latter trailed as usual in the early stages but was a running horse at the finish as he annexed the show award from Gallant Gay. Accolade covered the long trek in 1:51 and the victory added ,110 to the Christmas coffers, a welcome gift after being forced to scratch the Bright Knight gelding out of the ,000 added General Green Handicap last Saturday because of rainy weather. Todays weather attracted a throng of some 20,000 for the final day of racing here and the mutuel play was brisk as the day progressed. The supporting feature of the days program, the Franklin Handicap, was taken by Bubblesome, from the barn of Mrs. M. Farge, after a stretch battle in which the field came to the finish five abreast. The winner was close up all through the six furlongs and wore down the pacemaking All Forlorn to take the lead coming into the stretch. Once in front, Kempton Knott, who rode a double for the day with this race, kept Bubblesome going to save the purse from the bid of Marmara at the finish. All Forlorn raced gamely despite losing the lead and wound up third, a length and a half behind Marmara. The I race was run in 1:11. I
