CONQUER followed close up from the beginning, gained a short lead in the final eighth, but could not withstand the winner. MR. BUN was kept "within striking distance of the leaders and closed courageously in the final issue. BIJURO raced forwardly and held on gamely in the final drive. MISS CAREFUL tired in the final eighth. GOLDEN ERA finished stoutly after being outrun for five eighths ALEXANDRINE was vigorously urged to reach the front, but was done after a half mile. YELLOW TULIP lacked speed and could not threaten. STRATEGIST H. had much speed while setting the pace, swerved badly and almost struck the inside fence at the last eighth post when iput to punishment, then quit badly when he lost stride.
