f KEENELAND TURF NOTES j 4. Brownell Combs and Maj. Louie A. Beard served as honorary stewards Tuesday. Col. E. R. Bradley, accompanied by trainer H. J. Thompson, arrived from Laurel, Sunday morning, but the latter returned Tuesday night to remain in Maryland until the close of the Pimlico meeting. Colonel Bradley will stay at his Idle Hour Farm this week to see his yearlings tried and to attend Keeneland. William Woodward, chairman of The Jockey Club, who will be a speaker Thursday night at the annual dinner of the Thoroughbred Club of America honoring Senator J. N. Camden, came from his New York home and visited Keeneland Wednesday. While here he is the guest of Arthur B. Hancock. Roy Martin of Toledo, who purchased John T. Irelands farm in Bourbon County this summer, is here for several days attending the sales and races. Jockey Jimmy McCoy departed for Narra-gansett Park to ride during that meeting. The many friends here of Barney Sexton learned of his death In a Providence hospital with deep regret. Morts Pal, owned by R. Varwig, was vanned to River Downs. Jockey C. Compton had his first mount in more than a year on Batman in the sixth race Wednesday. Hollie Hughes, trainer of the Sanford Stud Farm Stable, arrived from New York in time to purchase the stallion Supremus at the sales Wednesday morning. He visited Keeneland during the afternoon.,
