PITCHBLENDE BY SIX LENGTHS Waterman Performer Has Little Difficulty Subduing Boscobel in Dufferin Park Feature. TORONTO, Ont, Oct. 22. A program made up of six claiming events and one maiden juvenile affair served for the fifth days card at Dufferin Park today. The fifth event, at the mile and one-sixteenth distance, brought out a well balanced field. Pitchblende, racing for W. J. Waterman, proved much the best when, ridden by jockey T. Aimers, he splashed his way to a six lengths easy victory over R. E. Leslies Boscobel. Mrs. M. R. Cowells Minthera took the third award two- lengths back and a nose in advance of J. Cairns Egad. Hominy Imp, Waterway, Sue Jones and Meridian Queen made up the balance of the field and finished as named. Another good crowd braved the rainy weather to be on hand for the days sport, which was raced amid frequent showers and over a muddy racing strip. Aimers sent the Waterman gelding into the lead in the opening furlong and steadied him along for the first half mile. Rounding the paddock turn Aimers called upon him and he responded quickly and opening up a four lengths advantage, continued to widen his margin to the end. Boscobel forced the pace from the start, made a bold bid to reach the leader after the first half mile, but was unable to overtake him but easily held the others safe. Minthera was bumped leaving the start then worked her way for-wardly continually on the inside and closed gamely, outfinishing Egad for the show award.
