MARY SOULARD, away in a tangle, responded fast when clear, was sent to the outside for the drive, wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth and won drawing away. GRACE GRIER, a strong factor from the start, drove through on the inside to reach the lead approaching the final eighth, but failed to withstand the winner. SWIFT AIR. forced to lose ground from the start, tired after offering a hid in the stretch. GUSTA VIA hustled to the front, was shuffled back at the far turn and came again in the stretch.
