FRONTIER HANDICAP ENTRIES DUE SATURDAY DETROIT, Mich., June 10. Nominations for the 0,000 added Frontier Handicap, the piece de resistance of the Detroit spring meeting, close Saturday. The stake, to be run over one mile and three-sixteenths, on Saturday, June 26, was heretofore run at Devonshire and among its winners were some of the greatest handicap stars of their day. In order to give out the weights in ample time for all trainers to study them and prepare their charges for shipment, the Detroit association decided to close the nominations two weeks before the running of the race. During the week of the Frontier, Detroit will be host to the Shriners convention, and on Wednesday preciding the stellar attraction the Moslem Temple Stakes will be renewed. Racing secretary Webb Everett already has received many nominations and, coming before the Stars and Bars and other important handicaps to be renewed during the Arlington Park meeting, the management expects the race will attract the leaders of this division.
