T LONG BRANCH TURF NOTES 4 Starting Thursday, all horses were equipped with the new saddle cloths for the Long Branch and Dufferin Park meetings. The cloths will be of black material with white numbers, so they will stand out distinctly in the photographs. A new structure is being built at Dufferin Park, for the.doctors to take the saliva tests. It is being built at the east end of the paddock. The photograph booth on top. of the stewards stand has also been reconstructed to house the new camera and is lined with sheet steel for the protection of the public from the chemicals used in developing. Racing secretary Pat Galliger was unable to fill the handicap for the third days racing, but has had great response for the Saturday handicap, when twelve were nominated. W. Stevens was granted permission to add spurs to the equipment of Lost Spirit in the first event Thursday. "H. Tetleys Fortune Bay carried the corrected weight of 113 pounds in the seventh event Thursday. M. R. Cowells Pearl Tipped was withdrawn from the juvenile event on the advice of the track veterinarian when he reported she struck herself Thursday morning. Fred Orpen. has not yet decided upon a name for the ,000 feature to be run on Saturday. Orpen has had fifty or more letters and hundreds of phone calls for the naming and although many names suggested are suitable, the final decision will be announced on Friday morning with the publication of entries. 4
