The run fatter, coming to life after a recent weak effort, was a strong contender from the start and barely missed. CARPAN displayed good early speed but tired slightly near the end. CARSONO was in dose W" ing the first turn, raced wide in the stretch and never threatened the leaders. SWEEP HASTILY ias la dose quarters approaching the stretch turn.
