PRESTON BURCHS MARES Preston M. Burch, trainer of the horses of Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Jeffords,- breeds thoroughbreds as a sideline. He maintains his brood mares on the Crestwood Farm of Thomas Carr Piatt at Lexington, Ky. He recently purchased four Canadian-bred matrons from Frederick Harris of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and sent them to Kentucky to be bred to Man o War, Agrarian, Brevity and American Flag. Three other mares which he had previously accumulated are booked to Ariel, Boatswain and Questionnaire.
