AT POST 1 minutes. Start good and slow. Won ridden out; second and third driving. VALPUISEAUX jumped well the first part and, under restraint, moved up under urging the final half mile, -swerved in and out in front of his opposition and drew away under urging. BARTHOLDI, close, up the first turn of the field but in close quarters at the club house turn, came to the outside in the final quarter mile and finished well. AMAGANSETT jumped well under restraint, met with repeated interference and was bothered in the final quarter mile when the winner swerved. SHASTA NEGRA was a forward factor throughout and had no mishaps in the running. GREATOREX showed speed under steady restraint but tired badly and was not persevered with. Won easily; second and third driving. CREOLE MAID showed speed from the start and responded to urging rounding the turn, shaking off opposition and drawing away. LOURDES swerved to the inside after the break and was in close quarters on the inside for the first part, fought her way through and finished well. FAIR COMPANY began slowly and was outrun the first part, then closed with a rush at the end. SUN FLO raced straight on the outside, made a determined bid when called upon, then hung. FAIR BEAM raced well from the start and had no mishaps. SOUGHT AFTER showed a good effort from the start. WES faltered badly under pressure. MAHLETTE had no mishaps. Won driving; second and third the same. ARMAGNAC was outrun the first part, but improved his position on the inside, finished with a rush on the inside and wore down the leaders in the last strides. REX FLAG moved up with determination when straightened out in the stretch, came to the inside of BLACK RHAPSODY and finished with good courage. The latter showed high speed from the start, but bore out badly in the final eighth and then hung at the end. WINNING CHANCE dwelt at ts start, was rushed into contention and then quit in the final drive. RIPARIAN came through on the inside entering the stretch and finished well. TIME ME, fractious at the post, showed an even effort. ROYAL REIGH was crowded back going to the far turn, was: guided to the outside and made up some ground. YETIVE had no excuses. " PERPETUATE broke well, but was immediately caught in close quarters on the inside, was taken up after rounding the turn and sent up on the outside of INDIAN LODGE, and proved best in the final drive. The latter broke fast, showed high early speed and then held on well under urging to the end. GAYSET, a forward factor from the start and on the outside of the leader, responded to pressure in the final eighth and held on well. ARMOR BEARER improved his position on the outside, made a determined bid inside the final eighth and then" hung. RUDIE outran his field from the start, raced MELODIST into defeat and was rated along under steady restraint. He bore out sharply in the final eighth when clear, then held on well in the final drive. SCENE-.SHIFTER was unable to keep up with the leaders in the early stages, improved his position when called upon, then finished fast on the inside. STRABO was shuffled back going to the turn and guided to the outside of the leaders in the stretch, was going strong at the end, although annoyed slightly when the winner bore out. GRAND PLAY raced close up all the way and had no mishaps. BROOKLYN moved up stoutly on the outside s. . at the far turn, then faltered at the end. MELODIST, close te the pace for the first part, faltered badljr in the stretch run. FENCING did not menace the leaders. ANN ORULEY overcame interference after reaching the stretch, then finished well. CHALLEPHEN was crowded back in the early running and made up ground steadily. GEAN CANACH was going strongly when, bothered and then tired to come between the leaders in the stretch, only to falter at the end. CAUGHT quit after racing forwardly in the early running.
