BEGINNING, shuffled back at the start, worked her way forward on the inside, stole through on the leaders entering the stretch and, finishing determinedly, was up inside the final sixteenth. PICK OUT bettered her position steadily, swung to the outside and finished with good courage. JOE D. forced a steady pace while racing in pursuit of BALANCE UP and held on gamely to the finish; BALANCE UP had to be rushed hard to reach the front, was unable to get clear and tired badly after reaching the stretch. JIM CORNELL began slowly and was never dangerous. STENOGRAPHER was done after a half mile. MARG MARGARET dropped back suddenly at the turn out of the back stretch while racing on the inside. GOLDEN KEY, away nicely, was hustled into a short lead midway of the back stretch, moved clear on the turn, but had to be ridden hard before a drive to stall off TAMBOV. The latter bettered his position on the outside and closed gamely after entering contention. FORGET NOT went prominently all the way and held on well to the end. BERRY PATCH closed gamely but could not menace. MORLUTE tired. JUDGE PEAK was taken to the inside in the softer footing and tired steadily. FLOWER TIME was not persevered with. HIGH HEDGE was rushed off his feet to get to the front, saved ground, but had too much use made of him and tired badly from his early efforts when reaching the stretch. JEAN LEE raced evenly. PENCADER gained a forward position going to the first turn, was rated close to the leaders for three-quarters, disposed of WILEY B. BRYAN without effort and drew away nicely through the stretch. WILEY B. BRYAN was steadied in front until challenged but was no match for the winner when put to a drive. THISWAY was in the first flight all during the running but failed to rally when the real test came. INFILEE was allowed to drop out of contention, closed ground steadily in the last half mile and raced well. HIGHEST POINT was unable to threaten seriously at any time. MARFREE had no excuses. APATHY, placed forwardly, responded gamely but could hot reach the winner. FOREIGN LEGION, a slow starter, was blocked when moving up approaching the final turn, recovered and finished courageously on the outside. BRUSH PAST had a rough trip but showed a good effort. DOUBLE FINESSE fought his way through on the inside at the final turn, but failed to rally thereafter. PRINCE GAY lost ground all the way. DEEP RUN tired, as did BLACK TIMBER. Overweight Merrie Marie, 1 pounds.
